This walkthrough covers every chapter of Tape 1: Bloom in Lost Records with focus on missable trophies/achievements, miscellaneous secrets, and all Collectible Memoir subjects. Tape 1 consists of 25 chapters and contains 30 trophies/achievements. Items you can clean up via Collectible Mode from the Scene Selection menu are noted throughout. Use that mode freely to replay scenes without overwriting your story save.
Before You Begin
- Collectible Mode lets you replay any scene to grab missed Memoir subjects or miscellaneous trophies without affecting your main story save. Always complete a scene fully for new footage to register.
- Story Mode replays lock all subsequent scenes. Use it only to rebuild relationship statuses or fix the Butterfly Effect trophy.
- Relationships matter: Build Nora, Kat, and Autumn to at least New Friend status by the end of Tape 1 to unlock friendship-related Tape 2 trophies. Choose heart-marked dialogue options consistently.
- Camcorder Menu: Used to watch Memoirs, edit footage, mark favourites, and delete clips. Many miscellaneous trophies are unlocked here.
- Reminiscing (interacting with glowing items) unlocks the Once More, With Feeling trophy. You need ten in total spread across Tape 1.
Full Chapter Walkthrough
Chapter 1: Expectations
The game opens with adult Swann arriving in Velvet Cove by car at night with her mother on the phone. This chapter is mostly dialogue and environment setup. During the car conversation, name the cat when prompted.
Use the right stick to look around the interior of the car. Locate and interact with the car rental pamphlet on the dashboard and read it carefully. It contains the phone number 416-555-0175, which is needed for the I’ll See You Again in 27 Years in Tape 2.
Turn off the car engine and headlights, then open the door to step outside. Flashback plays. Pan right and interact with the flashlight to conclude the chapter.
Chapter 2: Memory Lane
Adult Swann is standing infront of the diner. Interact with the out-of-order payphone outside the diner. (Reminisce 1/10)
Enter the diner and interact with the Movie Nights poster on the notice board in the top left. (Reminisce 2/10)
You need exactly 10 reminisce interactions across Chapters 2–5. The locations listed throughout this guide add up to 10. The trophy unlocks automatically when you interact with the tenth item.
Open the bar door to proceed.
Chapter 3: Swann Holloway, 1995
The game jumps to summer 1995. You play teenage Swann in her bedroom, preparing for the day. This chapter contains the highest concentration of miscellaneous trophies in Tape 1, take your time here. Talk to the cat, then pet it. (Geez-o-Meow 1/2). Walk up to the alarm clock next to the bed, wait for it to show 10:10 and then interact with it. This is easy to miss if you rush out of the room. Can be done in Collectible Mode.
Pick up the VHS cassette box next to the cat, open it, and add the tape to your inventory. Find The Dark Crystal VHS in the white cassette box to the right of the bed.
Interact with the wardrobe to change your outfit. (Outfit Change 1/6). Grab the snack from your desk and pack your backpack. Then pick up the camcorder next to the TV, close the cassette loader, aim at the cat, and press Record. Do it twice to complete the Kitty Memoir. Then open the Camcorder Menu and watch it back.
Film bed, terrarium, desk, tv to fill the My Room Memoir. Watch it in the Camcorder Menu, then choose Edit and Reorder.
Film another bedroom item (door or boxes), open the menu, and use the Replace option to swap an existing clip for the new one. Then go to the Footage tab and delete any clip.
Open the Camcorder Menu, switch to the Footage tab, and mark 10 clips using . Best done here after filming several bedroom subjects.
Talk to the cat again, then go to the window. Use the camcorder to record the cardinal sitting on the tree outside, your cat for More cat! Memoir and watch tower outside the window.
Leave the bedroom when ready.
Chapter 4: Welcome to Velvet Cove
Back in present day: Swann sits at the bar. In the bar (present), interact with the liquor shelf, chalkboard, and radio to reminisce. (Reminisce 3, 4, 5/10)
Examine your phone on the bar, then look up at the deer head on the wall. (Reminisce 6/10)
In the past, film the deer and the hunting blind in the background.
In the next outdoor scene, film canada geese, two does to the left, a frog near the lake shore, a squirrel on a rock in the water, and the sun and birds overhead. Open the Footage tab in Camcorder Menu and mark 10 clips as favourites if you haven’t done so already for Cinema Paradiso.
In the next forest path area, film the graffiti on the fence, hunting arrows, two house finches on the ground, a pile of bones (pan right, zoom in), and two squirrels mating near the sign.
Continue: in the present bar, reminisce over the beer and microphone. (Reminisce 7, 8/10)
Before heading to the toilet, walk to the far end of the bar and find the last booth near the window. Look into the bag sitting there and hold to peer inside. This is easy to walk past, don’t go straight to the toilet.
Chapter 5: The Day We Met
Teenage Swann visits the Movie Palace and the surrounding area, encountering the local bullies and the girl who will become a key character. When you take control over the character, return the VHS to the Movie Palace drop box. Then film the Yooper Scooper sign, seagulls near the trash, both movie store windows, and the cutout near the fence to complete “Movie Palace” Memoir.
Use the payphone to call your mom. Then go around the side of the building and film: graffiti on the white van and on the wall opposite of the white van, two pieces of graffiti on the wall and fence further down the alley, graffiti on the Restricted Area sign, and the gull near the trash containers.
Look up and film shoes hanging on the power line above the white van, then zoom out for a scenic forest and sky shot. Look behind you for the water tower.
Return to the front: film the Movie Palace flag and the ants around the ice cream. Head to the picnic tables and film graffiti marks across the tables. All the graffiti mentioned up to this point is enough to complete the “Graffiti” Memoir. This chapter is the best single opportunity to finish it.
Girl sitting on one of the tables might start talking to you while you’re filming, don’t reply to her.
Now, climb up to the roof of the Movie Palace via the fire escape on the side of the building. On the roof you’ll find a D&D table. Interact with the dice and roll them. Keep rolling until you get a natural 20. This is RNG-based, if you don’t get it first try, just roll again. Cleanable in Collectible Mode.
From the Movie Palace roof, aim your camcorder at the couple in the yard behind the building and hold the record button to imitate them on tape. Then, later in this chapter when you encounter Dylan and Corey (the bullies), choose to film them whenever you get an option to do so. While you are on a roof, film each of them for “Strangers” Memoir. Now, walk back to the other side of the roof, where two girl are, and film each of them, as well. If you haven’t gotten the trophy yet, imitate them, too.
Get back down from the roof and go talk to the girl sitting on the picnic table and the girl inside the Yooper Scooper kiosk to trigger the scene transition.
Back in the present, choose how to greet Autumn.
In the past: go through the fence. Film the balloon and record Dylan and Corey for the “Bullies” Memoir. Keep choosing to film them whenever you get an option to do so. You can get up to 6 entries for the this Memoir.
Return to the present bar: reminisce with the antlers near the bar, the Gone Fishing sign near the main door, and the framed pictures near Autumn’s table. (Reminisce 9, 10/10)
Sit down at the booth with Autumn.
Chapter 6: The First Night
The four girls meet at the local playground for the first time. This is a major chapter for both story and collectibles. When your character is free to explore the playground, film: climbing frame, spring riders, swings, broken sandbox, seesaw, and the rocket to complete the “Forgotten Playground” Memoir.
Film Nora, Autumn, and Kat 10 times each to build their individual Memoirs.
Film the owl, water tower, flag at the top of the playground rocket. Then push merry-go-round and film it as well.
Zoom in on the top of the rocket to spot Autumn’s keys. This triggers the scene transition.
After the keys cutscene, look at the grate/manhole on the ground near the base of the rocket. Nearby is a piece of cardboard, interact with it to cover the grate.
Covering the manhole prevents the keys from falling through later, altering the story in a minor but trophy-triggering way. Later, in Chapter 7, you must also interact with Autumn’s keys on the table to fully unlock the trophy. This is missable and cannot be done in Collectible Mode. Use Story Mode from Chapter 6 if you miss it.
Walk up to the drain pipe to the left of Autumn and examine it. You will get to talk to Kat, choose “She’s full of it” to improve relationship with her. Kat will get a dirty doll out of the pipe and you will get a chance to film it for Terrible Toys Memoir.
Once done exploring, go to Autumn near the large pipe and follow her through. Follow Autumn through the worksite. Examine the strange graffiti, crawl through the small entrance, examine the tent, and film the doll on the floor. Pick up a brick behind the tent and go back to the playground.
Chapter 7: Autumn Lockhart, 1995
This is a short character-building chapter at the bar focusing on Autumn. Talk to her or explore the environment. Interact with Autumn’s keys on the table.
Once you’re ready to progress further, interact with the bar to get drinks.
Chapter 8: Reunion
At the bar, find the basket of peanuts on the counter and interact with it twice. Swann will eat a peanut from the communal bowl. Simple but easy to miss if you go straight to the bartender.
Get the bartender’s attention by talking to him twice, then order drinks. Order Rum & Coke for Autumn to strengthen relationship with her. While bartender prepares drinks, look at the stereo on the shelf above the bar to reminisce.
Talk to Pam and the bartender, pick up the drinks, and return to Autumn. When Autumn puts a package on a table, interact with it to continue.
Chapter 9: Garage Band
The game goes back to past. Swann is standing infront of Nora’s garage, which doubles as her personal creative space. Knock on the door several times, then open it when prompted. When game allows, film pizza boxes, backpack near the TV, walls with posters, the games console and junk on the table next to the couch to complete “Nora’s Lair” Memoir. Also, film a toy (toy rabbit car) standing to the right of the garage door for “Terrible Toys” Memoir.
Pick up the Moo Box toy from that kids car. Rotate it upside-down and right-side up, it will moo. Simple and fun. Don’t miss it.
Move the skateboard and console out of the way and talk to Nora to trigger a brief cutscene. Afterwards, check the VHS tower next to the TV, the guitar picks are hidden in The Vortex Club box. Take one and give it to Nora. Choose Tharpe guitar pick, it’s Nora’s favorite and will help improve relationship with her.
Sit down the chair and a brief cutscene in the present will happen. When you’re back in the past, get up the chair and head to the drum machine. Set up a beat and when Autumn and Nora start playing, film at least four clips with them to complete “Live Show” Memoir, then, once done, select “That’s a Wrap.”
In the present, examine the package, rotate it, and interact with the printed advert on the bottom to reminisce.
Chapter 10: Lights, Camera, Action!
The girls head into the forest for a filming session. This chapter has several important trophy opportunities. Follow the girls to the forest clearing. Film forest sign, subjects for the Forest Girls Memoir, a new bird over the lake, and the background scenery.
Find the gap in the rocks to the right of the lake and enter through it. Not too far from the gap you’ll see a fence with closed gates. If you walk up closer, you’ll find padlock you can interact with. The code is 0827. Enter it to remove the lock.
Follow girls until you get to an open area that splits 3 ways. Before going anywhere, film deer footprints on the ground and animal droppings.
Now, at the end of the path on the right you’ll find an old motocycle. Before coming too close, film the bird on the tree above it.
Interact with the bike and go through dialogue. Film Nora and Kat three times to complete the Lover’s Bike Memoir.
Go back to the open area and follow the path to the lake. You’ll see a small hill on your way there. Interact with it to get Autumn and Nora to play air guitar. Film them three times to complete Air Guitar Memoir.
After air guitar bit, go to a small lake. There is another scenic view opportunity to film. Don’t hurry back just yet though. Go closer to the water, you’ll find the cairn. Interact with it and place a pebble on top to complete it.
Now, you can go back to girls but before reaching them, don’t miss a small opening to the right. There is a blue piece of tatter with bullets on it. Film the bullets to complete Hunting Memoir.
Return to the girls and proceed with the story. At some point you’ll come across a bridge unlocking a story-related Log Bridge Memoir. Before filming girls crossing it, turn right and walk up to the lake. In the water among rocks you’ll see a doll. Film it for Terrible Toys Memoir.
Chapter 11: Movie Night
This is a very short story-focused chapter with no missable trophies in it. Just be nice and work on building good relationships with girls in your replies.
Chapter 12: Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark
The chapter doesn’t offer much and mostly story-related. Explore the woods at night and continue building relationships through dialogue choices. There’s not much you can see in the dark, but when you see a cabin in the distance, don’t rush to it. There’s a bird you can film that is sitting on a tree. It may be hard to spot it, just keep looking around through the camera, autofocus will pick up on it eventually.
When ready, approach the cabin to continue with the story.
Chapter 13: Cabin in the Woods
The group decided to get inside the cabin, so you need to find a way in. There’s not much to film right now, so just focus on progressing the story. Walk around the cabin and you’ll see a boarded up window. To open it, you’ll need something sturdy, simple branch won’t do. You can use a hook which hangs at the outhouse that is standing nearby.
After girls unlock the window, Swann gets inside and is now tasked with opening the door for the rest of the group. It’s too dark in the cabin, however, you’ll need to grab your camcoder first. Go to the light and take it from Kat.
You’ll see a padlock on a door. The first symbol is locked in place, meaning you need to figure out 3 other symbols for the right combination. You can figure it out yourself, but if you don’t want to, or if you’re stuck, you can check the correct combination below.
Padlock combo
Eye – Moon – Leaf – Star
Once you input the right symbols, the cutscene triggers and the chapter ends.
Chapter 14: Phone a Friend
Swann is about to pack up her backpack for the cabin. But first, have a little chit-chat with a friend. Call any of the girls – Kat, Nora, Autumn – you want to boost your relationship with. Author of the guide chose to call Kat and offered to walk with her to the cabin. This gave an opportunity to improve relationship with her, plus an option to film a new bird for Birds! Memoir on the path to the cabin. Afterwards, change your outfit (Outfit change 2/6).
When you’re able to move around the room, film stick bug to complete Critters Memoir, your cat on the trunk, scratches on the drawer or on the door, box of cat treats, scratching pole and cat toys for More cat! Memoir.
After that Grab snacks from the box on the bed and put them in a backpack. Who can say “No” to a sugary delight? You also need stuff from the trunk but your cat is sleeping on it and a simple “Please” won’t make it move from it. Next to the door, there is a box of cat treats, use it to lure the cat away from the trunk and while little guy is eating, film him for More cat! Memoir. Take everything you need from there but before closing it, film your cat laying on the floor next to the trunk for another More cat! Memoir. The cat will get back on the trunk, once it’s done eating, so feel free to give it pets (Geez-o-Meow – 2/2). Pack everything in the backpack.
The last thing that is left to pack is a book. Depending on the character, you might want to pick something different. Kat prefers “The Willowtree Coven”, Nora will be pleased with “Illusion Eye” and Autumn will find delight in “Shivers Lane.”
Once everything is packed and you’re ready to go, leave the room and the chapter will end.
Chapter 15: This Old House
Since author of the guide chose to call Kat and offered to walk with her to the cabin, they got an extra scene and an option to boost relationship with her. While following your friend look around for new film opportunities. If you chose to go with Kat, you’ll notice a bird sitting on a fallen tree on the right. Take your chance and film it.
When you get to the cabin, there will be a short cutscene. After it end, Swann will be inside the cabin and you will have new things to film. Shelf covered in web to the left of the door, fireplace, dining room, broken bed, a table with Nora sitting on it. These should complete Dirty Cabin Memoir.
This is not it though. You also have creepy mask above the door, cabin itself, deer weather vane, outhouse, chimes and a broken bridge behind the cabin. These should complete Woodland Ruins Memoir. To the right of the broken bridge there is a new bird sitting on the steel bowl, film it as well.
After you’re done filming, walk up to Kat and help her out. Don’t choose “Need a boost?” to start a conversation as apparently, she won’t like that. Kat will get hurt and need medical help, so, go inside and find Nora. She is still sitting on the table and next to her there’s a First Aid Kit. You can talk to Nora to improve your standing with her, but before doing so, open trapdoor above and go upstairs. You’ll find a scenic view shot in front of you and a doll laying on the floor for Terrible Toys Memoir.
Now, you can go downstairs and focus on the story. Talk to Nora, don’t forget to pick up First Aid Kit, help Autumn to clean fireplace, treat Kat and when you’re ready, interact with backpack. It will trigger a cutscene end move to the next chapter.
Chapter 16: Echoes of Summer
You’ll be outside the cabin. Follow girls to the beach and there, you’ll find a new bird to film.
When done exploring and enjoying the view, interact with the radio to progress further.
You’ll get a bunch of cutscenes with few interactions mixed into it. After summer holiday cut, you’ll be back in the cabin and have a new story related Memoir to fill in. Depending on what name you chose for the cabin, it’ll either be Fawn’s Rest or Fawn’s Curse. Basically, you film the same items you filmed for the Dirty Cabin Memoir after the make over.
When you’re ready, leave the cabin to continue to the next chapter.
Chapter 17: Nora Malakian, 1995
A character-focused chapter for Nora. Continue picking supportive and positive options to build good relationships with her. No missable trophies here.
Chapter 18: Bloom…
You have a talk with Autumn in the present and after that, pick up where you left off in the past. Before moving anywhere look at the tree to you right and you’ll see a bird sitting on a birdhouse. Film it.
Follow girls and you’ll reach an open area with ravens. You should already have them filmed for Birds Memoir but, in case you don’t, feel free to catch one on camera.
What follows then is a story-related cutscene and you’ll eventually will have a new story-related Spellsong Memoir to fill. You need 3 pieces for it.
You will be jumping between past and present but there’s nothing worth noting in this chapter. Just follow the story.
Chapter 19: Packing Up
Swann packs up at the end of the summer. Don’t forget to change outfit when possible. (Outfit Change 3/6). Shoot Moth Girl at the window to unlock Moth Girl Chronicles Memoir. Also, film your cat on the table for More cat! Memoir.
Nothing else to shoot in the room. Pack up your stuff (grab the tape that is on the floor to the left of the bed) and interact with the box next to TV to end the scene. After a cutscene and a brief sequence in the present, you’ll find yourself near the lake. Place a Moth Girl on a rock and film it. Then follow the path up the hill and you will find a tiny bird sitting on what’s left of a tree on the righthand side. It’s next to a big tall tree.
Return to the cabin and turn left, move a bit forward and you should see a red-headed woodpecker sitting on a trunk infront of you.
Once you’re done exploring, go into the cabin to continue to the next chapter.
Chapter 20: Double Dare
The girls are talking in the back. Before interacting with the fireplace to progress the story, go up the attic, place a Moth Girl at the edge and film it.
Light the fire and go through the Truth or Dare game.
When you see and option, choose Dare and Kat will challenge you to call for Bloody Mary in the outhouse. Keep calling for Bloody Mary until Swann exits on her own. If you leave early or refuse the dare, the trophy won’t unlock. Can be done in Collectible Mode.
Continue through the evening’s dialogue options. You’ll jump into the present before going back to the past in the next chapter.
Chapter 21: The Abyss
This chapter is heavily story focused. You’ll end up outside and if you look infront of you through your camera, then you’ll see moonlit moths. You’ll need to follow them (they are visible only through camera lens), and while you do so, film them at least three times to complete Moonlit Moths Memoir.
Eventually, moths will lead you to a bush. Go through and you will get into the open area you’ve been to earlier in the game. Only this time it looks eerily different. Here is another memoir to film. Kat, ravens, glowing flowers and tree eyes will complete this Anomaly Memoir.
A very long cutscene will follow that will spill over to the next day. As part of the story, Corey will come along giving Swann an option to film him thus finally completing Bullies Memoir.
Chapter 22: Doubts
Present-day Swann and Autumn discuss what they remember. This is a dialogue-heavy bridge chapter. Continue choosing supportive dialogue. No missable trophies here.
Chapter 23: Kat(hryn) Mikaelsen, 1995
A character focus chapter for Kat which is important for her friendship status. After the interview video, you’ll be able to move about and take more shots. Film water tower, a bird and Moth Girl on a swing and then on the slide.
By this point you should have gotten enough Memoirs completed to get a trophy for 50%. It could have popped earlier for you though.
Chapter 24: Riot Grrrls
Girls are going out to give a concert at “The Blue Spruce” bar. When you arrive at the place, you’ll get a new Setting The Stage Memoir to complete. Film The Blue Spruce neon sign (1/7), car in the far right corner of the parking lot (2/7), Mikaelsen’s pickup truck (3/7), billboard across the road (4/7), Open neon sign (5/7), junk around the corner of the building (6/7), No alcohol for minors notice at the stairs (7/7).
To open the fence use Up – Right – Left – Up – Down combination on the lock. Once you get in, put a Moth Girl on a chair and film it. This should be your last piece needed for the Memoir.
If you missed a location for Moth Girl Memoir or one didn’t count for some reason, there is one more spot coming shortly in the game. You can place the toy on one of the speakers.
Go behind the building and pick up the extension cord. Plug it in the outlet inside the maintenance room and try to turn the light switch on. It won’t work. Open breaker panel and pick up two fuses. One is on a shelf to your right and another one is on the ground to your left. Insert them in missing places but instead of turning them on, flip all the fuses off.
Kat will give you 4 stickers and ask you to place them around. Stick them at a table near the fence (before you leave the closed off area), at the trash container, on the wall near the payphone. Film three men that came out of the bar to complete Strangers Memoir and place the last sticker on a payphone to trigger a curscene.
Chapter 25: & Rage
The whole chapter is a cutscene. Just watch and enjoy Tape 1 story resolution.
After credits, you’ll see the Relationship Recap screen. Check that all three girls have at least New Friend status. If any show We’re Cool, you will need to replay key chapters in Story Mode before Tape 2 to unlock their Tape 2 friendship trophies.
To unlock Documentary Filmmaker replay the 3rd chapter in Collectible Mode. After you filmed cardinal outside, turn on the ceiling fan and film it for Moving in Place Memoir.
