PSNProfiles user RumoO_r discovered a trick to clone resources in Pacific Drive, that can help reduce grind for unlocking all Garage Upgrades and Blueprints. If you are experiencing issues with finding enough Olympium Fragments, Electronics, or Lim Magnets, this will save you a lot of time.
The game allows you to adjust crafting costs in the settings, but the Matter Deconstructor refund resources based on the standard value, regardless of what you actually paid to craft the item.
The Setup:
- Pause the game and go to Settings > Gameplay > Crafting.
- Change the following settings to the most lowest non-zero value (0.05):
- Car Part Resource Cost
- Tool Resource Cost
- Car Maintenance Item Resource Cost
- Apply Changes.
The Loop:
- Go to your Fabrication Station and craft expensive car parts or tools. Because you changed the settings, these will cost next to nothing (1 unit of each needed resource).
- Take those freshly crafted items and throw them immediately into the Matter Deconstructor.
- Profit: The Deconstructor will break them down and refund you the default amount of resources.
Important Notes:
- Target Basic Resources: This works best for raw materials (Olympium, Electronics, Magnets).
- Complex Items: This does not seem to work well for intermediate crafted ingredients like Circuit Boards or LIM Chips. Focus on final car parts that use the rare resources you need.
- Trophies: Changing these difficulty/accessibility settings does not disable trophies, so you can do this freely without locking yourself out of the Platinum.
The more expensive the item is to craft normally, the better the payout.
