Prologue

For the purposes of the guide, this game was played on the lowest difficulty. This may have affected the amount of resources mining deposits gave on average and damage dealt by radiation.

Once introductory cutscene is over Jan will be stranded on a shore.

Although objective is not explicitly stated on the screen, Jan has only one thing to do and one way to go – find the base and rest of the crew. Path is linear at this point, there’s also nothing to pick up, so you can just follow the path and enjoy the scenery with occasional short cutscene breaks.

After Jan finds capsules with dead team members, a notification will appear on the screen indicating that his radiation level is rising. And it’s rising fast! So, you got to chop-chop to the base. Difficulty might affect the speed of radiation, regardless of that there is still a time limit, so scenery admiration can wait until later. Run! ( )

Cutscene.

The Survivor
Reach the base

Phew, that was close, but you made it.

It’s 9 pm, Jan is tired and confused, but the journey has just begun, so we gotta look for a way out.

New Task: Is Anyone Home?

Objective: Find the Communication Room

First, we need to find a Communication Room and establish contact with someone on Earth. Communication room is on the top left floor, it’s hard to get lost in here, so just go there and next objective will pop.

Objective: Call for help

Jan calls unknown number and an unknown someone tells him that he is still in danger. Planet activity rising and …days remaining to …lethal proximity… Sun rising. The voice goes in and out and it’s hard to understand but main point is clear: we got to escape.

TASK COMPLETED
New Task: Escape the Sun

Objective: Follow the instructions to prepare for the journey.

Getting burned to the crisp wasn’t on Jan’s bingo card, so we’ll do as the game tells us – open the Manual and scroll through documentation thus completing current objective and getting a new task.

New Task: The fundamentals

Objective: Gather 60 Metals outside

It’s too late for a walk, however, so just go to bed and get some rest.

In the morning whenever ready go outside. Go behind the base, keep going forward but stick more to the left and soon we’ll encounter someone’s personal belongings. There will be a personal item in the suitcase. Take it, it might be useful later.

Locations of suitcases are fixed, however, their content is randomized, so there is no point in mentioning what author of the guide got from each of them. Gifting each of the Alters at least one item associated with them will unlock an achievement/trophy Not Just an Object.

Now, we’ll turn around and follow the path straight keeping the base to our right. Soon, we’ll notice couple of rock piles glowing orange. These are Shallow Deposits. Extract Metals from both piles.

Objective: Build a Workshop via the Command Center.

Now, we’ll return to the base and build a Workshop as the game asks us to do (it requires 40 )…

Objective: Craft a scanner.

… then craft a scanner at a Workshop using 20 .

Objective: Find an Organics deposit area.

With the scanner in hand, go back outside and turn left. In the distance on the right there will be a giant parachute hanging on the rocks. If we go in that direction, we’ll find more suitcases (with Lucky Key Chain and Watch in one and The History of the Universe movie in the other).

Take whatever is in there. Now, if we turn around we’ll see a cave at the opposite end of the map. This is where we need to go. As we follow the path, we’ll notice greenish smoke on the right and Organics deep deposit next to it. However, deposit is located one level above Jan and requires a special tool to climb that he doesn’t have yet. No problem though. Come closer to the wall and interact with it. We’ll get a notification about Climbing Hook thus unlocking a new crafting option in Workshop. We’ll leave it for later, however, for now, let’s focus on getting to the deposit.

Follow the path in the cave, at a crossroad turn right and we’ll see a weird looking something that kinda resembles a wall of northern lights… -ish? Nothing to be worry about, we are adventurous folks. Let’s come closer, surely nothing bad will happen.

New Task: Rapidium Discovery

Objective: Gather 30 Rapidium samples

Even though objective asks for 30 samples, let’s just deplete the deposit as we might need more than 30 in the future.

Objective: Report your findings

When Jan is done, we’ll continue to go the path we were going, climb couple of walls (they are not super high, no tool is needed) and get to the Organics deep deposit

Objective: Scan the area to find a deposit

This is a tutorial section that will teach you how exactly mining here works (mining plays a big part in the game, so it’s important you understand it). Remember the scanner you crafted at the Workshop? Use it to uncover the concentration of underground resources. The redder coloring beneath gets the closer you are to the target, so keep following the red and you’ll find the deposit.

Objective: Place a Mining Outpost

Once you found the deposit, you need to place a Mining Outpost on it. You already have one ready, just open a Wheel by holding , select Building Mode and then Mining Outpost

Dig Deeper
Set up the first outpost

Objective: Connect the Outpost with the Base

An outpost won’t work unless Jan connects it to the base. To establish connection you use pylons. The game provided you with 6 of them, this is enough to get started. Again, open Wheel, select Building Mode, then Pylon. Note that Pylons have distance limit. It’s indicated above it in Building mode.

Objective: Have 180 Organic Matter gathered using the Outpost

After connection between Mining Outpost and the Base is established, Jan needs to go back to the Outpost to mine 180 Matter. But instead of going by foot, we can now fast travel there using Base Entrance (there’s a panel at the back of the white column).

Depending on how much time you spent on exploring and running around, Jan may or may not be able to get the necessary amount of Organic Matter by 9 pm. At 9 pm Night Radiation hits hard and it’s best that Jan returns to the Base as his suit doesn’t protect him from radiation at all and he may die if he stays outside for too long. You can check your radiation level at the bottom left corner. Whatever you do, do NOT let that circle get filled or you’ll die as there’s no Alter to save you.

There’s still stuff to do at the base before going to bed though. First, let’s call the Unknown Someone and report our findings. The person on the other end is pleased that we found rapidium but we still need to make sure it is what we think it is.

TASK COMPLETED
New Task: Making Sure

Objective: Build The Womb module

For the so called “Womb” we need 40 , Jan should have enough, if you mined both Shallow Deposits near the Base earlier.

Objective: Use the DNA sample in the Womb

Okay, it’s time for experimental science! Let’s go to the Womb and interact with it, like the game asks us to. A cutscene will happen after which a new member will join you.

Ta-da!

After the cutscene if you approach the new character and interact with it, you’ll get a bronze trophy.

Baaa!
Pet the sheep

Looks like it WAS rapidium! Awesome! Let’s inform our bosses or… whoever they are.

Objective: Report the results

The person on the other end is happy but we still have the Sun problem to deal with. Fortunately, there’s still time, so let’s leave it for tomorrow, for now get some rest.

TASK COMPLETED

New day comes. We need Organics matter, so let’s just go for it. Fast travel to Organics Mining Outpost and work for a while. Once we have enough, we’ll get a new task.

TASK COMPLETED
New Task: Provisions Needed

Objective: Build a Kitchen

Kitchen requires 40 Metals. (If you don’t have enough, here’s a fully uncovered map with shallow deposits locations). It’s 5 blocks wide, so we might need to rearrange modules to be able to fit a new room in the base, or build an elevator to gain access to an additional level.

Objective: Prepare 6 Mush meals

With all the chaos and death looming over our head we totally forgot about hunger! It’s about time to fill out stomach with err… nutritious mush. Hey, leave complaining for later! We are in survivor mode!

TASK COMPLETED
Task Updated: Escape the Sun

Objective: Start the engines in the Command center

Here we go! We are almost there, just start the engine and let’s get out of here.

New Task: The Emergency

Objective: Turn the lever in the Machinery

Uh-oh, this doesn’t sound good. Okay, don’t panic. Let’s go to Machinery, pull the lever…

TASK COMPLETED

… and try the engine again.

New Task: The Emergency continues

Objective: Turn the lever in the Machinery

Are you serious? Now it’s smoking. What’s wrong with this thing?

Objective: Call Ally Corp

They are talking nonsense. How can rapidium save us? That’s first. And second, even if it can somehow magically help, we need access to Quantum Computer and only Captain has…

Oh, they granted us access to QC. Awesome.

TASK COMPLETED
New Task: The Quantum Computer

Objective: Check you data consistency in the QC

Okay, let’s go and check what’s up with this Computer then.

What the… How did they get this data? And what exactly do they have in mind?

Objective: Contact Ally Corp

They want Jan to initiate a branching procedure, to create an Alternative version of us. Sounds insane but I guess, this is the only way, isn’t it? It’s either that, or death under the scorching Sun.

This will be interesting…

Objective: Initiate the branching procedure in the QC

After analyzing Jan’s life path, Quantum Computer found a possible branching point that allows us to create Jan Technician with maintenance experience. Hm, he actually might be able to help us fix the Machinery!

Okay… here we go!

Two of us
Create the first Alter

Objective: Wake up your Alter in the Womb

Interact with The Womb to open it.

Woah! He looks just like us!.. Duh.

The Alter is just as confused as we are, so let’s not give him hard time. Deal with an emergency first and leave the chit-chat for later.

TASK COMPLETED

Technician is angry, we’ll deal with him later. For now, let’s do the only thing we can – start the engine and get as far away from here as possible.

Let’s roll
Finish the Prologue
