EAT Courier

Overview

EAT Couriers are a very uncommon variant of the Runner found most often in the Metro and the Brentwood Sewer, though they can appear in various locations across Los Angeles. They are former employees of EAT, a food delivery service, who turned during the early days of the outbreak. They are often found in the subway or sewers, where they had been running deliveries and trying to avoid zombies on the surface when they became infected.

EAT Couriers wear a hooded cyan jacket with silver reflective elements and the EAT logo, leggings, and sports shoes. On their back they carry a large cyan EAT-branded backpack – the most notable feature of this enemy and the reason players should actively hunt them down. When killed, their bags drop various healing items including protein bars and energy drinks. The bag can also be damaged mid-fight to spill its contents early.

In combat they behave identically to standard Runners. They are capable of running at high speeds, dodging, pushing players back, and interrupting heavy attacks. They are highly vulnerable to sharp damage, and maiming their legs slows them considerably and reduces them to Crawlers.

Where to Find Them

EAT Couriers are one of the rarer entries in the Zompedia. Triggering a car alarm is among the most reliable methods of drawing them out, the car alarms uphill from Nikki Gutte’s house in Beverly Hills work particularly well for this. The first story-guaranteed encounter is on the top floor of Farouk’s house during the side quest Resurrect the Rex. For consistent farming, both the Metro and the Brentwood Sewers shortly after the fast travel point are reliable spawn locations.
