Incendiary Walker

Overview

The Incendiary Walker is a variant of the Walker commonly found around military compounds in Beverly Hills and Venice Beach. They are former military personnel, distinguished by their standard-issue military uniform and the high-pressure fuel tank affixed to their back. They share the same base uniform as other military Walkers, but are additionally equipped with a black hood, red safety goggles, and black gloves. The red fuel tank on their back has a flamethrower gun hanging from the right side of their waist.

In combat Incendiary Walkers behave identically to standard Walkers, slow-moving and attempting to grab nearby players. Their danger lies entirely in the tank. When the tank is damaged, gasoline leaks out, drenching the walker and creating a flammable puddle in the surrounding area. Shooting the tank once will cause gasoline to spray around the walker, making all affected zombies flammable. Dealing major damage to the tank in a short time will cause it to explode, igniting all zombies within the blast radius. This makes them one of the most tactically rewarding enemies in the game, a well-timed shot or kick sends them hurtling into a crowd as a walking Molotov. Incendiary Walkers can be used against other zombies: they are essentially huge, walking Molotovs.

Like all Walkers, their limbs can be maimed and they are susceptible to Meat Bait. Incendiary Walkers count as explosive zombies alongside Grenadier Walkers and Hydration Walkers, contributing toward the Boom and Doom zombie challenge. Keep in mind that their fuel puddles and explosion can also endanger the player, maintain distance when triggering the tank, and be wary of other flammable hazards in the area that may chain-ignite.

Where to Find Them

The first encounter is during the boss fight at the Outdoor Stage in Monarch Studios. For farming, reliable spawn points are at Venice Beach, on the beach behind the military base in the south-west corner near the water.
